The curiosity to understand how life works at the molecular level, led me to graduate in Biochemistry and expand that training after my degree by doing a master's degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology in Murcia (Spain). After finishing my studies in Spain, I decided to take the plunge and leave my country to complete my scientific training and get my PhD. The Max Planck Institute for Biology in Tübingen offered me that possibility and I was able to obtain my PhD degree in Biochemistry in 2018. My experiences during my PhD made me realize that the world of academia was not the world in which I wanted to continue my career. To this day, I have abandoned the pipette as a working tool. The skills acquired to work scientifically during my studies are nevertheless key to my current work as a Clinical Evaluator at Aesculap AG in Tuttlingen, where I am actively involved in the various stages of the clinical evaluation like collection, appraisal, and analysis of clinical data of medical devices. In my presentation I want to give you an idea of my transition from academia to industry, the diversity of tasks associated with working as a Clinical Evaluator, my journey in the company since my start and the retrospective reflection on my time as a doctoral student.
