Arriving by Bus
The easiest way to head towards the institute is to take bus number 3 (towards “Ulmenweg” / “Waldhäuserost” and alight at the stop “Max Planck Institute”. If you are taking the bus from the main station, the buses towards the institute leave from busstop “E”.
The stop “Max Planck Institute” is in front of a building. Continue downhill to the end of the building and turn right. On the other side of the road, you will see a carpark and the blue building housing the institute. It takes about two minutes to arrive at the institute’s upper entrance from this stop.
Alternatively, you can take bus no. 4 in the direction of “WHO Ulmenweg” until you reach the bus stop “Corrensstraße” or "Niethammerstraße". Across the road from this bus stop, a flight of steps leads uphill through some trees. Follow these steps until you reach the street called Spemannstraße. Take care in winter as the steps are not cleared. The Max Planck Campus lies to your right-hand side. It takes between five and ten minutes to get to the campus from this stop.
