Career Opportunities

The Max Planck Institute for Biology Tübingen investigates fundamental questions of modern biology at all organisational levels in microbes, plants, algae, and other organisms. The institute currently consists of six scientific departments and several research groups. Around 350 employees from over 40 countries contribute to our dynamic, open, international, and stimulating working environment.

We are an equal-opportunity employer and seek to increase the percentage of women in areas where they are underrepresented. Qualified women are therefore particularly encouraged to apply. The Max Planck Society is also committed to employing more individuals with disabilities, and disabled applicants are preferred if they have the same qualifications.

Internships for High School pupils

An internship at the MPI for Biology offers high school pupils the opportunity to join a particular department or research group and learn more about the research, working methods and processes that happen there. You will also be given the chance to work on your own small project or take part in trials of a larger experiment.
If you are a high school pupil and are interested in doing an internship at our institute, please select 2-3 departments or research groups that offer topics that particularly interest you and send this list together with a short cover letter, a CV and your last school report to Ines Müller.
