Forschungsinteressen

Ich untersuche derzeit die Evolution von Braunalgen (Phaeophyceae), einer eukaryotischen Gattung, deren morphologische Komplexität sich unabhängig von Pflanzen oder Tieren entwickelt hat. Ich interessiere mich besonders für die Verbindung zwischen den Mustern der genomischen Evolution (Evolution der Geschlechtschromosomen, Entstehung von taxonomisch beschränkten Genen) und der Entstehung von lebensgeschichtlichen Merkmalen in Braunalgen.
